Default HELP with BOSE system!!

I know this has been talked about over and over again BUT i havent found anything to help with what Im wanting to do.

OK so i have a 2004 Silverado with 6 speaker Bose and the Amp/Sub in the center console. I recently installed an aftermarket Headunit and ive been been wanting to add some subs and an amp. But this Bose system sounds like **** to me now...

What i was wondering is....how hard is it to replace the whole system? New door speakers and everything. My driver side door speaker is already blown so that pushed me further to replacing the whole thing.

Thanks for any help!!

The easiest thing to do if you are planning on a whole system replace is to add a aftermarket amp and subs of your choosing abandon the factory speaker wiring in place and pull wiring directly from your amp to door speakers. Saves hacking stuff up and makes it waaay easier to go back to stock should you decided to sell the truck in the future.

So you're saying run the door speakers off the aftermarket amp? And if so what wattage of amp would be good for say, 2 10's plus the doors?

Go to a audio shop too many variables. Size of amps depends on speaker size and type and brand followed by what kind of music you listen to and how you jam it. Remember distortion not power is blows speakers. Feed them tons of clean power and they will live a long happy life.

I don't remember the numbers but I've got the largest 4 channel JL digital amp set to 2 channel running a set of 6.5 focal utopias in kick panels up front and by the numbers it's too much but the amp is set so they will not distort and they sound phenominal. Then running twin JL mono ambs on 2 kicker 15's with a blow through box and a bedcut.

Have 4 speakers in the whole truck front stage and 2 subs. Sounds wicked the subs never overrun the highs. I listen to lots of rock and country and some "old school rap read 1990's"
