OK so my buddy has a 2003 Silverado 6.6 duramax and has banks power on it because when we tried to hit it with the diablo sport it just wouldnt work...

So we figured whatever, diablosport sucks, and put banks on it, and it worked pretty good, but i still thought something was up as it didnt seem the torque converter was locking or anything...

Fast forward a year and I am into tuning with HP tuners and am getting pretty damn good with it, I offer to tune his truck, I go to read the computer and it gives a boot loader error, so Im like wtf? And scan the truck for DTCs


[TCM] U1003 - Loss of serial communications for class 2 devices (History) (Immature)
[Brake] C0550 - ECU Malfunction (SES) (History) (Immature)
[Unknown] U1003 - Loss of serial communications for class 2 devices (History) (Immature)
[Restraints] B0090 - Active switch voltage out of range (History) (Immature)
[Restraints] U1016 - Loss of Class 2 Communication with VCM (History) (Immature)
[Entertainment] U1000 - Class 2 Communication Malfunction (History) (Current) (Immature)
[HVAC] B0229 - (History) (Current) (Immature)

Wtf???? Anyone have any clue about these codes? ! The SES isnt on and banks doesnt see any codes, Ive tried to clear these codes many times and they wont clear.

First off I would make sure all the Banks PCM related parts are disconnected, HP Tuners might not like seeing that. Also HP Tuners can only clear PCM DTCs, all of those codes are for other modules. Most of the DTCs are loss of serial communication which may have been a result of failure to read the PCM.

Banks is long gone... how do i clear the other DTCs?

The Duramax and Allison combination can give some problems when reading and writing the separate ECM TCM setup. Did you try to read the ECM and TCM again? The codes should not effect reading and writing the modules. You maybe able to clear the DTCs by disconnecting the batteries and touching the positive and negative cables together to drain all of the capacitors in the modules, however this does not always clear the codes. If that does not work you'll need to get a hold of a scan tool that can communicate and read data from the other modules that would be capable of clearing DTCs.
