has any one used snap on code reader

Default has any one used snap on code reader
Am having trouble with my secondary car.it does not idle right turs off .but there's no check engine light ...well no codes will this scanner tell me what's wrong with it.....its an 03 murano

If there is no check engine light then there is probably no codes to read, unless they are pending.
