Default gauge malfunction

I got an 04 RST and my rpm gauge has decided to do its own thing. It jumps to about 4k and wont go below 3 1/2k. It climbs at normal rate but sputters when declining. Pulled them out and cant seem to get it right. Since its a stick, I really need some help. Thanks

BTW the Regency parts are the only ones that ever break on my truck!!!!

my 04 had a recall on the cluster. My temp gauge would wrap around like 270 degrees.
