Default Fueling issue...

This has happened only on the drag strip where I can grab traction from a stop. Took off at wot on the strip and the truck goes extremely lean. On the street, It either hooks up and goes or blows the tires away but my AFR stays right around 13.0. Only when it hooks up from a dead stop the AFR goes 14.1 and higher. I'm assuming it's burning a lot more fuel b/c of more load on the engine. What's the cure for this? I will be upgrading to 42# injectors tomorrow so my tuning will need to be adjusted anyways. Also, what file or files to make these fuel adjustments in EFI live? I'm using (B3618) PE modifier based on rpm.

Hmmmm, wanna send me your file or post it up??? corey_lemons@sbcglobal.net I might be able to help out a little bit. It could be combination of things... If you on the stock injectors that is not helping you at all, but it should not lean it out that bad until the upper RPMS...

Assuming this is on your 99, did you upgrade to the 02 operating system? Also did you throughly tune your VE table with your Wideband (particularly the 90kpa+) ? Your VE table being off could cause that, also your PE enrichment rate could also cause it...

E-mail sent. I did upgrade to the 02 pcm. I didn't do much to the VE tables so it's most likely not right on. You could be right on the PE rate... Take a look at my file and let me know what you did or what I need to do.

IMO i would desensitze your knock sensors a little bit, your getting knock right after the shift, probably due to the verter looseness... Them I wouild tune your VE table with your wideband.

Entering PE faster, link is here, pay attention to DC_Justin's posts...

Go the help -> Tutorials Autove in the scan tool....

then tune your MAF sensor here are a couple of good links

That should be a little light reading for you, at least to get you going in the right direction.

The knock sensors were picking up detonation. On the log you seen with the knock right after the shift, it was detonating all the way down the track so it wasn't "false knock".

Usually when i start retuning after a major change/upgrade I get some KR, but once the VE and MAF tables have been tuned it goes away... that I why i tune VE and MAF tables first then i work on spark, revisiting the fueling tables inbetween spark changes...

Fatten it up a bit. There's no reason to be running as lean as 13:1, especially if you're hearing detonation.
