Default Fuel sending unit going out.

It's been going for at least 120K but as long as I have an odometer I'm gtg. Going, I say because it comes and goes. Fill her up and the gauge goes to empty; at half a tank it's pretty true, but still fluctuates.
Could this also cause my remote mirrors to crap out or is that just gm at its finest?
IOW, is there arelatively simple fix for this?

Thanks yo.

Sorry. Too much Breaking Bad! New season tomorrow night.

Fuel level sensor is kind of a common known problem with these trucks. They want you to replace the whole fuel pump assembly but you can get just the level sensor.

Has nothing to do with the mirrors.
