Screwed meaning it doesn't work. It's nothing new to me either. Had a 02 silverado that was the same way. And my wifes 05 trailblazer is the same way. So is my brother in laws 05 silverado. I wish they would do a recall

They can design some of the most powerful platforms on the planet but still can't get the fuel gauge down. lol

First step would be to determine if its a cluster problem or a sending unit problem.

This is an option for $15 the plastic on the fuel pump module is fragile as fruk after sitting in gas for that long, if your lucky you can replace it without any plastic breaking.

Fuel Level Sensor

I wish GM would do a recall for my rear tires wearing out so fast.

My 00 z71 works sometimes then other times doesn't work.

It's all over the place. E , 1/2 , 3/4 , FULL. Just never know when it will or will not work. Very random.

When its on E, I can kick the bottom of the tank and it will start working again. But then a few minutes later and back on E.

I'm sure its a loose connection or something. The pump/sending unit has been replaced once.

So its not just a GM thing.

When I get time I will unbolt , prop up the bed and pull it out to see what I can see.

But that may not be anytime soon.

Mostly just keep an eye on the trip od and when I get close to 300 then its time to stop and fill it up.
