OK, I seem to be leaning towards HP Tuners. Has anyone spent the extra money on the Professional version? I'm thinking it might be overkill for maximizing the fun factor in a f'in farm truck, but thought I'd ask you guys anyways. Thanks a lot guys, I'm learning lots here.

if you plan on fuel tuning I would definitely recommend the pro version since it has inputs for things like a wideband which will make fuel tuning 100x easier.

I would recommend anyone to go pro. Standalone datalogging is alone worth the cost.

Wait one second... Vortec 98-00 PCM - Stream S-VORB. I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe, but I had it tuned by that shop in Tulsa, OK which means it's probably encrypted. I ask this because until today I didn't know there was an option to tune it.

You should definitely go with the Pro edition. It's an additional $150 now or $300 later if you want to add it after the fact.

Yep, been available for some time now I would doubt that it was locked, but it's a possibility.

Hmm- I'm eyeballin' the HP software and leaning toward Pro for the wideband O2 capability. I've heard there's a workaround on this. And say- how much would some wideband O2 sensors set me back and the interface? I reade a qrite- up in a 4x mag about FAST wideband O2 interface, with HP as a matter of fact and the said it was something like $649.00, for the wide band o2's and interface. At this rat it looks like I'm doling out $1300.00 B4 anything else...............

You can use any sort of wideband o2 system that has an output.

Try the Innovate LC-1 ($199 w/ sensor - no gauge). You can replace one of the stock o2 sensors, use the output to connect to the HP Tuner module.

It's $649 for HPT Pro and you can get an LM1 wideband for $350 or the LC1 for $199.
