Default Electrical Issues

I have been having some electrical issues for quite some time now, mainly with the rear ps window and my rear door locks. The fuse blows and the power locks do not work on the rear doors and the rear hatch giving me no access to the back. I have tried to look at where the problem could be, but I have not found anything. Would it be worth it to just replace the entire wire harness? About how much would it cost/how long would it take for a diy?

I'm assuming this is your 2004 Suburban?

Okay. Here's what I think then. None of your problems would be fixed by replacing the wiring harness.

Your rear power locks need new door lock actuators. Extremely common issue. They fail frequently. Watch the lock lever, and listen as you lock/unlock the doors. I'll bet you hear something inside the door, and the lock lever kinda moves a tiny bit. Get new actuators for the rear doors. Lock acuators go for about $145 at Napa.

Your right rear power window problem probably needs a new motor. Pull the door panel and remove the regulator & motor. If the regulator looks okay(I'm sure it does), swap the motor with the right front motor(they use the same motor). If it now works, put a new motor in the front window(they get used more often usually, might as well get the new part). Window motor goes for about $66 at Napa.

Need more info on your rear hatch issue....

When the fuse blows for the rear locks, the rear hatch doesn't open. It remains locked. The only way to open it is to replace the fuse (this sucks when my fuses are in the back portion). The rear window sometimes will not roll down - other times it does when I'm in drive but when I put it in park the window rolls up.

Has it been in a flood or an accident? Those are the only reasons that I'd suspect harness issues. Otherwise, I still think the same thing. Sounds like the rear hatch issue is a problem connected to the bad lock actuators. So fixing the locks should resolve the rear hatch issue then.

If you want/need a schematic or two, just let me know.
