Default electric fan tuning

Seems like every thread i've read says something different, so you guys that have done this tell me how this sounds. The truck is my 03 ss, I have stock 05 fans and a two pin harness, as far as the tuning goes I have HP tuners (not much experience though) I turned the fans from no fans to two fans, is this correct our do I put it to aux fans? And I set temps for fan 1 to come on at 225 and off at 215. Fan 2 on at 230 off at 225. does that sound close? Is that all I have to do as far as tuning? I don't need to enable pins 42 and 33 some other way do I?

Those temps are high IMO. I like to run my truck a lot cooler when daily driving it unless I am drag racing or its on the dyno. For DD, I like the truck to stay around 200-210.

For what its worth I run even cooler than that but it depends on your thermostat choice. I have a 180 degree stat so I turn fan 1 on at 195 and off at 180, and fan 2 on at 210 and off at 195. I live in a cooler climate also and this plays a part too. While driving temps usualy hold around 180-190 so the fans primarily come on in stop and go traffic. I like this so the fans arent on constantly and the temps stay in a reasonable range.

Alright, my truck just has a stock thermostat so I believe that's a 195. Maybe I'll set them to 205 or so. I guess I'll just have to play with it and see how it works out.

I would probably set them to Fan 1: on 205 off 200, Fan 2: on 215 off 205

When I set mine up I downloaded a stock 05 Silverado tune from the repository at hptuners site and looked at what the factory set them up to. And just copied that.
You know that is going to work especially since it is a DD.

Stock t-stat is 186 F in these trucks but they do run closer to 195. The gauge in the dash is more of an idiot light than a guage in every single GMT800 I have driven. You can have a 15 degree swing and the needle doesn't flinch. Either of my trucks like to run around the 190-195 mark depending. I kick my fans on low at right around 200 and high at around 210. Works fine on either of my 6 liters.
