Not really the 2007 truck OS is crap compared to the 2005. For example some of the idle parameters can not be logged, the emissions test run alot more frequently on the 2007.

Since your mentioning price differences dont forget to mention the extra cost of the HPT custom OS whixh efi does not charge.

Yes, efi just builds that into their initial $900+ pricetag

Swapping out pedal assemblies and such doesn't sound like the ideal solution when we already offer 2 bar support, just my .02.

I have a lot of people who send me tunes I help them with and I change them and send them back. I can not do that with out using credits for every one with HPT unless I buy an unlimited license for that year from you.

$125 is still cheaper then $196 for a COS the last time I check...

The bottom line is either one will get the job done. They both have there pro's and con's so its hard to say one is better than the other. It really depends on what your doing as to which one may be better than the other. I have and use both all the time, I like some features of EFI and I like some of features of HPT. For what I do EFI's licensing system works out better for me, but it all comes down to what your doing.

But how long until it is actually cheaper?

HPT MPVI pro-$649 comes with 8 credits enough to do 2 vehicles and 2 custom operating systems off the bat.

EFI V2-$899 comes with 2 licenses off the bat

With HPT I could add another license & custom os for another $199 totalling $849 and its still cheaper

EFI V2 with 3 licenses would be $1024

With HPT I could add now a 4th license & custom os for another $199 totalling $1049

EFI V2 with 4 licenses would be $1149 and is still more expensive

With HPT I could add now a 5th license & custom os for another $199 totalling $1249

EFI V2 with 5 licenses would be $1274 and is STILL more expensive

So you would need to get to 6 licenses or more to it even become ANY sort of factor in reality. And thats IF they don't opt for year/model or tunershop licenses.

Most that I've seen will do their vehicle(s) and maybe 1 or 2 after that, most aren't tuning a dozen or more vehicles and those that are ARE choosing the tunershop licenses which already include the custom operating systems for FREE.

The custom operating system cost really isn't much of a factor if you look at in this fashion.

We do segment swaps in house with a turnaround of less than 1 business day in most cases
