want to take my truck to get looked over and dyno tuned and the tuner asked me to bring the efi live software, i dont have the software, just the autocal device and cable. where can i get the software from?

 

You can download off of efi live's website. If they dont have the software already and efi live how are they going to dyno tune it with efi live? Your autocal is married to your tuners V2 unless they wipe it out and marry it to their V2 making all your old tunes useless.

 

i bought the truck BB tuned and it came with the autocal. im having an issue with the truck and my tuner offered to throw it on the dyno and do some logs and runs and check out whats going on for free. he said if i had the software then he could do it for me. hes more in the german car game but is highly knowed and knows his stuff in general, thats why he doesnt have efilive

 

He will not be able to make any changes to your tune even with efi live, only BB can with your autocal.

 

oh, so i wouldnt be able to take it anywhere and get it dyno tuned? BB said his tunes are unlocked

 

If the tunes not locked anyone with tuning software can re-tune it but they will need their own efi live V2 setup or hp tuners set up and not just efi live software and your autocal.

No problem, I'll try to explain it. Your auto cal is just a remote tuning device made by EFI Live that has to be married to an actual EFI Live V2. Who ever you buy an autocal from marries it their V2 in order to email you tunes for you to use with the autocal. The autocal can only use tunes from the married V2. They have to provide you the tunes for your autocal. If you took your vehicle to another shop to tune they would need their own EFI Live V2 in order to tune it.

The download is kind of like a demo. You need the actual cable to do anything.
