Default EFI live boost questions

I have the truck in my Sig. I want to touch up the tune. I have the lc1 installed and can log it with the V2. PLease explain fully as I can be rather dense at times.

1 Can I install a 2bar map sensor without affecting my tune?
2 If it changes something, can you explain?
3 Can I just follow the autove tutorial to check the current tunes accuracy?
4 Will anyone share any tips or pointers that helped them along ther're way?

Thanks in advance as I know someone will help me out.

I don't have my EFI Live installed on this computer, but there is a setting that needs to be changed for the 2bar sensor, i don't remember what it is off hand, you might want to do a search on EFI Live to find it.

{C6301} MAP Sensor Scaler, Set to 190 for 2Bar MAP.

Just installing that wont mess with your tune. Im guessing your not speed density at the moment without having a 2 Bar..

Just follow the Tutorial and it will tell you everything. Thats how i did my truck.

I am no expert but you cannot run a 2 bar MAP without changing every table that references MAP. If you do all of those tables will think it is only seeing Half the MAP it really is. Either MAP sensor references a 0 - 5 volt scale. The 1 bar MAP sees up to 14.5 psi or just under atmospheric pressure depending on your location. The 2 bar MAP sees up to 29 psi at the same 5 volts output. Therefore all the tables that reference the MAP will think they are seeing one half the MAP that they actually are seeing.

You should not do Auto VE unless you go 2 bar OLSD COS3 or COS5. Without the MAF reading the engine will have no idea of how much air is going into the engine and if you go into boost you stand a chance of running very lean and damaging the engine.

1.) Your tune will require extensive changes to run a 2 bar MAP.
3.) You should not do Auto VE, if you are running FI, without running 2 bar OLSD tuning.

There is no point in installing a 2 bar MAP and scaling for it unless you also do the COS so that you will have the extended MAP VE table, so you can tune it for the boosted area of the tune.

That makes perfect sense, but... can I still use my maf for low boost daily driving. I love the way the truck drives now and don't want to lose the stock driveability

THANKS for chiming in everybody
