Ok gang,
I've been calling around MN all morning and finally found a shop in St. Paul that will dyno by the hour rather than charging by the pull (which I think is BS). 1 hour of dyno time will cost $100 even. I don't have a lot of money currently but am willing to take half a day off work to use my truck as a guinea pig for those of you who want to see a continuation of the WOT timing thread we had going on the last few days. I will give a completely unbiased report of my findings and eat my words if I'm wrong. If I can get enough people who want to contribute money to the Joe's dyno fund I will do this. I will have exactly an hour of dyno time to do as I please so I'm hoping to try up to 10 tunes. I will start with the DRM tune so everyone can see what I had to work with as a baseline and then go through my evolution of timing tables up to where I made it to 34 deg total advance. After that I will have time open for more tuning so any questions folks have on dwell (like I saw in another thread) or power enrichment questions I'll be glad to try in the time remaining. I won't post up my paypal address until I think I have enough folks who want to contribute. This way if I don't get enough folks who are interested, those who were interested won't lose out on their couple of bucks they donated. I don't know how serious some of you were about me actually doing this so let's see where the ball rolls. Opinions? Thoughts? Requests? Donation commitments?

Count me in. I am probably more interested in the dwell experiment, but I gotta admit...I would love to see the comparison of the ButtMeter vs the DynoMeter on timing.
Count me in for a buck, maybe 5 if you can only muster up 20 folks.

Just an FYI, you will probably get your best numbers on your first pull (all else being equal). The rest will just be good comparisons of tunes as the engine will get up there in temperature. I know when I see people on the dyno here locally, the tuner typically let's the car cool for at least 15 minutes between each pull.

I'll throw 5 or 10 to this. Just tell me where.
One important thing on the dyno is to remember that after you load any tune you want to run it for a minute or so, shut it off, then start it back up and run the dyno run. Sometimes it won't go into P.E. mode otherwise.

That is a good tip........ That I did not know. Is the PCM doing this intentionally or what is the reasoning behind this? Anyone else going to contribute. All I can afford all of about $20 right now (according to my budget) to throw at this until September (nothin' like living paycheck to paycheck)
. That would bring is up to about $60. Anyone else interested? Only $40 more to go.
