I dont understand why you need the dod delete if you disable it threw tuning

 

you don't...

a simple change of one value in the tune file and the DOD/AFM is completely disabled...

BUT, that "DOD Delete Kit" that the other thread is talking about, is to remove it altogether and upgrade the engine internals... they're not doing all that just to disable the DOD/AFM functionality...

 

To add - the AFM/DOD lifters are notoriously noisy and fragile.

 

I have a predator and it says disable dod turn it off and it still goes from v8 to v4.

 

the main reason people remove the dod lifters is because they install higher lift cams and the dod lifters have been known to fail with aftermarket cams. Stock cam you will be fine.

 

There's your problem.

 

exactly what he said. lots of people are installing bigger cams with high lift.

 

there are still a lot of people that disable DOD based on ignorance.

k.. when you highlight OFF, did you then press the center button to SAVE the selection, and then press the ESC button a few times to back out to the main menu until it asks you to "Install tune now?" - then you select YES and reinstall the tune with the change you made??
