I didn't mean to say Nelson wouldn't push the envelope. My first few tunes came from Allen. I would stand behind his product first and foremost, BUT, I was just commenting since he is seemingly happy with Waitforme tunes, and most tuners won't push unless you specifically tell them too, I'd look at this from the stand point of money and what you are willing to invest into the tuning part of your truck. If you want to learn how to do it yourself, spend money on the software and put the learning hat on. If you want to get more power out of your truck but not learn how to tune yourself, talk to your current tuner first, before you spend 600 bucks. Allen WILL make it more powerful, but maybe Jesse will too. Just trying to help a brutha out on spending more money. I will say Allen does kick ***, just being rational.

Is Allen's tune worth 4TIMES the money of Jesse's? Especially when Jesse will do whatever you tell him to do. Allen does not have any magical tables that Jesse doesn't have, so the potential is virtually the same from both, just depends on what YOU tell them to do to it and what your goals are!

Is Allen's tune worth the same money as buying the software? I don't think so......400+ dollars for a mail order tune doesn't make much sense to me.

Here is my take on this.

Allen charges too much, I don't care how good people claim he is $400+ is ridiculous for a mail order tune. Why not buy the software for around the same price?

And my experience with Jesse hasn't been very good. I bought EFILive from him and he got it too me quickly, everything went great. After that we called him everyday for two weeks straight asking about the free tune that comes with it. I think he had a different excuse everytime, just too lazy to do it in my opinion. I finally gave up, won't ever buy anything from him again.

Oh, and Jesse has a tendency to be a smartass over the phone when asking him questions. He even said making a new tune to email me would take up 20 minutes of his time. Yeah, I'd hate to do that considering you took $550 of my money for software.

I love the tune that I have. I told him that I wanted the most performance for my truck that I could get with out blowing it up. I was just curious if the extra money was worth it. I honestly don't have the time to learn how to custom tune my truck myself. Thank you for all the responses.

Making up a new tune takes 5 mins, especially a base tune. And I can do that from scratch. Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me, I have never gotten an excuse on anything from Allen. But Allen will do whatever you want him to do in the tune, I have heard Jesse saying there is only so far he will go, bottom line. Jesse doesnt like to push the envelope in his mail orders like Nelson will. Now my opinion since you already have a tune and want more, get the software and learn it yourself.

IMO getting the software and learning how to tune is the way to go. I use HPtuners and have had fun learning how to tune and I understand the GenIII architecture better than I had previously. I'm the kind of person who always tinkers with stuff to make it better/quicker so I'm constantly flashing a new tune onto my pcm which makes having HPtuners nice. the support from HPtuners' staff is phenomenal and the guys on their forum are awesome as well (thanks to foff and russk especially).

for the 500 bux I spent it was well worth it. plus I can tune 3 other cars/trucks with that 500 bux. now I can make some money back from what I invested in it

just my .02

Just dont try emailing Jesse, its been like 2 weeks with no response. I am on the second tune from him and my rear 02s are still on after asking to turn them off the first time. My SES light has been on since day one. Got his tune when my truck had about 4k miles and now I have 7k miles a year later. His tune along with headers and air intake knocked almost 8 tenths off my stock times.

Its all the little things that have me unhappy about my wait4me tune...

*Oh forgot to mention* Allmost every dyno sheet that I have seen of similiar trucks with similiar mods looks better than mine. Most of the better ones have a nelson tune???
