I don't think u guys are understanding this. A 4.8 making 250hp is not going to propel a 5000lb truck 90+ very fast.
With the stock converter shifting into 3rd gear rpms drop fairly low and out of the power band.
Even a custom tune will not fix this.

Yeah I removed the speed limiter, and idk I feel like the tune did make a difference, maybe some of you guys with the black bear tunes and what not don't feel the same way but that's understandable seeing as how it's an actual custom 1 off tune. Anyway thanks for all the input guys!
I'm gonna look in to headers this weekend, and a Ported & Polished TB if my paycheck permits (hoping) from there I'm gonna see about a custom tune from Lew or something along the lines..

Custom Tune from Lew will make a diff since you will be data logging and he will be using that to make adjustments ... Even from the canned 93 tune u already have you will see a difference with his custom tuning ... I know my 5.3 did ... Ur going to need retune again after headers install but u get a years worth of tuning with Lew anyway.... You wont be dissappointed .... I really dont know though how much more u gong to get on the top end side of that 4.8....Just my opinion on that .. But Lews tunes are facts

yeah im gonna wait until my pacesetters to come in, and the ORY pipe. Then im gonna hit up lew..gonna have to wait a little, the paycheck of a valvoline quick lube tech isn't the greatest in the world

yeah, I can definitely get you hooked up man, no worries.. 
With the custom tune, you'll gain even better/quicker throttle response & acceleration, stronger/harder pull, smoother & quicker power delivery throughout the rpms, etc...
As far as gains go... absolute hp/tq gains are hard to predict... every vehicle is different... even if they're the same and have similar mods... location/weather, fuel used, elevation/altitude, etc etc all play a role... the same holds true for mileage gains - those variables, plus driving habits/style, how much highway vs city driving, etc all make a difference.... you could gain no mpg increase, or you could gain up to about 3 mpg increase... tough to say due to the variables in play... so there is no guarantee of any specific amount of hp/tq or mileage gains...
with the custom tune, I CAN tell you that you will definitely have a very noticeable performance difference/gain over and above the canned preset diablo tunes...
I have gained people anywhere from 12-39hp, and 10-23lb. ft. torque...and 0 to 2 mpg - above and beyond what the preset canned tunes give you...
