Crazy knock sound....please help....

As the miles get added on, the slap gets worse, at least that was the case with my dad's 5.3 and mine is following suit. Before my dad got rid of his (230k) the slap was so bad in the winter (about 10-20*), it would echo in the garage right after startup.
