Crank relearn..
#1
I sold the superchips, now I can buy a Nelson tune. I just don't want deal with the crank relearn code poping up, how offten does this happen on his tunes? My truck has the stock tune now and I need more performance and fuel mileage.....Is it worth the $500.

I ve never had crank relearn issues and everytime time i want to change my tune Allen does it for free. Its hard to get a tune perfect from the mail but Allen does a great job and Gives you great Performance and also leans toward the safe side on your tune. If you have access to a scan tool or A/F gauge you can give him these values and if his tune is off a little he will dial it in for you. This is the next best thing to a DYNO TUNE you can get. Great cust serv too! Im a a happy Customer.

heres happy customer #3, GET THE TUNE MAN! lol
Allen was great the whole time I had the tune, when I started learning to tune on my own, he still offers to help me out and fix certain things I screw up. It doesnt get any better than that! Like Charlie said, his tunes are the best out there period.

Having to do a crank relearn is such an odd occurance. I would bet less than 1% have to do the relearn. I personally have had about 10 retunes from Nelson and never had to do a crank relearn on my 2002 LS1 PCMs. He tuned mine live at his shop and every time he reloaded the new tune it fired right up and we never had an issue. I don't know if there is an issue with the new PCMs though. 2005 vs 2002 surely have some changes in the PCM internal logic. They may have started programming newer PCMs with Windows XP and we know was a piece of crap XP is, holes everywhere.

His Tunes are awesome. The first one i got from him on my 1999 silverado i had to do a thieft re-learn and a crank re-learn. Since then i have gotten 2 more from him and i didn't have to do either one. Like the other guys said it must be rare? Luckily i knew how to do both of them so it was a minor inconvenience.
