Couple issues im trying to work through
#1
OK... so I am trying to work thru a few issues with an unusual engine / trans swap... I am planning to swap a 4 cylinder common rail injected Cummins diesel and an Allison 6speed automatic into my 2006 GMC 1500. I have the fan work all worked out in my head. What I'm trying to figure out is the electronics side. I plan to keep all my factory gauges working by simply installing the factory sensors onto the Cummins engine and feeding them to the factory ecm. I also plan to tune out all fault codes.. my questions are as follows.
1. Can anyone explain the output to the electronic throttle body to me? I'm trying to figure out if I can take the output that should normally go to the throttle body and feed it to the Cummins ecm for a throttle position.
2. The factory trucks that came with Allison's and small gassers... do they have a separate trans control modules? Could I use a harness from one of those and just remove all the injection/ ignition stuff?
3. Did the 06 trucks with the 6 speed Allison come with the shift on the stalk option??
4. Can I change the tooth count per rotation for the engine rpm input with efilive or ls1edit?
5. My overall plan is for this truck is for anyone that gets into it.. or sees it until you hear it run it should look and seem stock. I'm expecting 220hp and around 600lbft out of the engine. And hoping for 30ish mpg on the highway.... any insight into this stuff would be appreciated.
