Its a 2003 5.3rcsb 4l65e and PI3000 trple disk. It isnt locking in 3rd you feel it lock in 4th and hptune shows no slip rpm while locked but when in 3rd It dosent lock it set to 30 lock and release at 27.

 

tps does play a role in locking the converter. does it lock when you command it to with the scan controls?

 

what's your speed at when you say it's not locking in 3rd? I know on mine i have to me going like 50 or 55 to get to the correct speed and Throttle Position for it to lock.

 

I would have to try that. I have hptuners,where can iI command it to lock?

 

well at 42 mph you can feel it lock but thats the 4th gear at 30 when its in 3rd dosent feel the same

 

While you are scaning click on the green and red tab next to the engine icon that displays dtc. it is called VCM control.
Once open, click the trans tab, then click TCC PWM "ON" the converter will lock and stay locked until you unlock it by hitting off, hitting "ON" again or by closing the VCM control window.

yah you need to see if it is locking with the scanner, that's the first thing. Well i have a 4l80, so your speeds are different, mine doesn't lock into 4th until much later, like i said 50 to 55mph

 

Seems to be working now all I did was mess with the connections, wiggled them. Note to self dont try locking and unlocking torque converter with the scanner by your self !
