haha, well I meant to buy the silly plug but never got around to it. After tearing the gauge pod all apart and getting to it, didn't want to put it back together without trying it.

Called Autometer and spoke to Joesph. He says they have clip harness but expensive when 90% was going to get tossed. He called me back later because the instructions were not to clear he set up a FP gauge on some test equipment and said # 10 pin +signal output. Problem is he has no pins he could send. He is trying to find out where to get some. Further testing he used a digital volt-ohm meter tapped the purple wire and saw .5-4.0v linear scale but was pure raw digital signal no buffer like #10 pin. Thats all so far.

Yeah, #10 pin is where I have my soldered wire stuffed into. I take my statements back. It's pretty much erratic all the time. Here is a scan with FP logged. Gauge reads rock steady.

Ok found some pins that work pretty good. Radio shack part number 276-1428 was like $3. Its a 9-position female d-sub connector so youll have 8 pins left over. Broke the pin off soldered it and had to force it into the back of harness fit pretty tight. Then taped the wire to the rest of the harness just in case. Didnt drive the truck yet but turned key on and f/p very irratic all over the place, will go out for a drive tomorrow and try it.
