Default check engine light need help

ok my light has come on again and its saying p0449 which is the evap. vent/Solenoid i changed this part = about 1year ago this month. i need to know is there anyway i can clean it or would i have to get a new one? i don't mind spending the 20 bucks on a new one but i do not want to have to buy one every year. and having a gravel parking lot a work is not helping either, so if anyone have any ideals or fixes let me know thanks.

Is it ran up by the transmission. If not I think they have a right up on running it up by the trans with longer hose so it doesn't suck as much dust. maybe it can be tuned out. Give shelton a holla.

yeah this problem is kinda common.. When i replaced mine i ran the vent up to the top of the filler neck inside the bed-side panel and just zip tied it to the filler neck.. Where did you buy yours for $20?

The updated design is the $100+ part and the original design is the $20 part. They are two different part numbers.

For the GMT800
Updated vent valve#19207762 (acdelco#214-2081) msrp $198.60
Original design#15759044 (acdelco#214-1091) msrp $33.06
