Default Can you drive without a tune? For a 408 stroker?

Im having trouble getting in contact about getting my pcm retuned for my 408. I am thinking if I can get it started on my current tune then get to a dyno I can have it dynotuned somewhere instead. It might be easier this way, so I can get her back on the road sooner.

It won't idle for ****. This I know! If the injectors are the same size it may idle enough to get it out of gear, but if not, you souldn't run it anymore than you must, meaning, check for leaks and thats it.

Dangit. Injectors will be upgraded and it is a 5.3L in there now. Well, we'll see what happens, i'll have to make a few phone calls.

What size injectors do you plan to go to? What are your new camshaft specs?
If you're still running the MAF, you can get by with the stock injectors without a problem, other than potentially having to two-foot it to keep it from dying at low-speed/idle. How far away is the dyno that you'd get to?

I've got one for you. I'll be teaching a class there on EFILive early next month. It's in North Richland Hills.

31lb injectors are too small for a 408

with my setup and using svo 42# ones they are at 73% duty cycle.
when you scale a svo 42 they are right around 49# injectors for ls1 psi.

you need to step up and buy some real injectors if you plan on making power

These are only going to be in for the break in period, I plan on changing intakes to a nitrous plumbed intake in a couple months, and plan on upgrading them when I do the swap.
