good move.

I would recommend doing a fresh install of XP Pro. Dell tends to load their computers with lots of non-essential services and programs- these could get in the way.

i'm going to go through and remove alot of it myslef, i dont that with all my comps.

i wont be able to mess with Pro until i get back in the states.

The 8600 doesn't have a serial port. The 8500 I had that was stolen had a serial port, but Dell removed it in the 8600 model.
