Default bought HPT pro now what?

ok so i bought HPT pro today and im excited to get it in the mail. however i have been reading the tuning for dummies sticky i found and apparently i am dumber than i anticipated. where is a good place to start when it comes to tuning? anyone have beginners advice?

The HP Tuners forum has a lot of good intro instructional threads you should read through. Goes through a lot of the basics. Read them with a grain of salt as they are authored by customers, not those who made HPT....overall they are pretty accurate though.

i have been and also reading on their forum. im a little overwhelmed but i want to learn too. but not the hard way.

You can start by plugin it in, turning it on, and registering it when it shows up...

I would say read read read read read.

Then you need to learn the scanner inside and out.

Learn what every parameter means and what affects them.

Then start making small changes and see how it goes.

The easy stuff like TM and speedo changes can be done now.

ah yes sarcasim bites me in the *** yet again. yes i am aware of all of the things i must do up until that point. its after that i become a bit of a fucktard at tuning.

damn i ordered the tuner today from summit racing and fed ex shows it will be here tomorrow. quite excited.
