Everybody knows what you do in your truck, scott. They don't need a black box to gather evidence, and it is only a matter of time before they bust you.

Some vehicles (not sure about GM) record data on loop, that is that over a set period of time things like speed, engine parameters, etc are recorded. Info can be subpoenaed for court. Or so I have heard

After a Google search, I am surprised at all the info indicating that I have one. Here is an interesting site.

It's in there. I was involved in a wreck 4 yrs ago that claimed the lives of two people. Since I was the only survivor, I was the one they had to go after. The troopers tore my seat up and got the info. It records everything you did in that truck in the last 15 sec before a crash.

I was not prosecuted because of that box.

EDIT: Just checked ur link, I guess my info I heard was right, because that site says the same thing I heard......When I went to retrieve my things out of the truck after the wreck, my drivers side seat was screwed to hell, and I asked the wrecker guy what happened, and he said the troopers got a box outta it, and thats the first I heard of it.

The trooper doing the investigation confirmed that to me....
