autolite copper core spark plugs burned in my 5.3!!

Default autolite copper core spark plugs burned in my 5.3!!



this is what happend, the head of these spark plugs fell in the cyl # 3 and 5
ill remove the head tomorow. i reinstalled my old iridums

what is the cause? are the copper cores not compatable with my setup?

I'd have to guess too much timing, and pinging. How old are those plugs?

And you want to ask why most of us use the NGK tr55

UF, try picking them with a videoscope. Would save you time.

well, the head is off the motor , the cyl looks perfect ,like nothin happend.
the valves look rusty , i think there is some kind of cyl pressuer leak.
will check the valve seating on the valve port and check the valves for any damage.

as for your questions these valves are less than 25 miles old

the timing was programmed in iridumes thats why( i think)
but why only 2 out of 8 are bad???? btw they are 3 and 5

i used AutoLite XtremePerformance Iridiums and they are way better than NGK laser iridiums IMHO and they last longer

the heads are off foxxer

the damages so far ar 2 intke valves and two exhaust valves

ill buy them tomorow,

any other direct replacment?
how about stock ls6 valves

Well it looks like they got excessively hot to me. Now you say the valves are 25 miles old, I would bet they were leaking, and it caused excessive heat.
