I save a copy of every tune and log on a USB card as well. It seems like everytime I go somewhere in the truck I think to my self I should do a log on the way there...... Sometimes I have to talk myself out of it so I can just get where I am going for once.

 

I don't know how you do it. It's been like thee months sence you craptop died. That long without tunning.......

Everytime i go somewhere i feel naked without the laptop on the passenger seat. Passengers are getting used to holding the laptop on their laps now . My favorite question from the woman so far is:

the woman: Why the **** do you need to hook up this laptop just to run to 7-eleven....all i want is a loaf of bread.

Me: What are my IATs right now?

HAHA at a light?!!?! I have uploaded a tune on I270 before, I was in the local lanes and there was an accident up ahead, so I made my changes and flashed it. LOL

I am actually not doing very well not tuning. I am going nucking futs not being able to scan, change and mess with stuff. This whole 2bar/maf combo thing, I want to experiment with but can't. ARGHGHGHGH!

eh i stopped the 24-7 tuning a while ago, though it seems like im online nearly that amount trying to help people as much as possible so I guess thats my fix now. For people that have a near perfect tune & are still tuning its either because they have a case of ocd or they are trying to learn more about tuning which would be a good thing. Most I think Just have ocd unfortunatly

With the ability to standalone datalog for as much as the newer units allow you the only time I bring my laptop with me now is to do a quick flash or when im messing with RTT on someones car.

 

Have any of you made a laptop holder for the truck? Something that would attach to the console or something?

 

Drove my truck on a business trip yesterday. About 500 miles. Working the VE's as you guys know. Anyway on the trip back last night had the laptop out and in my buddies lap. He got a quick lesson in RTT and VE tuning! Did find out you can't log and RTT at the same time.

I will probably tune in spurts! Log a lot and if it's running okay, not throwing any codes, and no major knock I'll leave it a alone for the most part. Pick the next major area to work on. Timing I supose now. Learn as much as I can about it and then work on it for awhile. Goal being most drivable power.

yeh foff...ocd here. Hell, I have ADD and OCD. I start tuning one thing and go to something else before I finished the first. Just like working on the house, my job, my relationships, did anybody catch the in the news that a A Jordanian military court on Thursday sentenced three Syrians and one Iraqi to death for firing rockets at two U.S. warships in August 2005....LOL DAMMITT...see, ADD. I think I am compulsive with it cuz I want to learn what does what since I don't have a history of "motor knowledge". I feel better about trying stuff like kb says.
