Default another tune question..

Ive been reading alot of threads saying that a tune improves mpg...and my question is, would deleting 4cyl mode hurt at all? I defenitly need a tune, my truck tops out before the 1320ft, and hearing the 4cyl mode is not a pretty sound. Well thanks in advance

????????????????????????? you wont go into 4 cylinder mode at full throttle. if you mean that your hitting the governor, if the new trucks even have one then basically any tuner, be it a handheld or a custom tune, can remove that.

i see what you mean now, sorry about the mix up. i have personally never done it because i haven't tuned a newer truck, but if you have it, watch your instantaneous fuel mileage on your dash when it goes in and out of 4 cylinder mode. your truck is rated at like 20 mpg from the factory and without the 4 cylinder mode then it should be pretty similar to the older trucks which are rated much lower. hope this helps.

From what I hear most get better mileage cutting it off. If you cut off in the quarter mile, you must have a good potential track time.Unless you got one with the 85mph cutoff. I know of a couple people that have them that cut off at 85, and another guy has one that cuts off at like 95. My 04 was governed at 100 when new, Wheatleys tune took care of that.

thanks for the info sprayed...as for my truck its actually pretty much stock right down to the paper air filter, running a best time of 15s flat @ 90. My truck cuts off at 95, and traps my speed at 90 down the quarter.
