Looking to add trans temp gauge. Don't have the money to buy a cluster with a gauge from factory. Looking at Glowshift brand gauge. Can it be wired into factory harness and not cause codes? Or would I be required to install the included sensor with the gauge to provide the data?

2001 silverado 1500. 4l60e.

If i had to install sending unit, where would it need to be screwed into the transmission?
