what all needs to be done when doing the swap? i've read something about adding a wire somewhere and about the lights in the dash but did a search and couldn't come up with anything solid. i've got hp tuners to do it with and were gonna buy a "411" ecm from a 02 silverado. do i need to change the vin or anything in the tune? any wires need to be moved or added or is it a swap-and-go deal? thanks

 

You will need the HPTuner license for both vin numbers unless you don't what to read yours, then just the 02 license is needed. I don't think you can change vin numbers with a o2 ECM, it will not match up with the 02 O.S.

As far as adding wires that is one option, but it is much easier to turn off the SES for code P1637 (or was it P 1638? aaa just do both lol)
That is all you will need.
BTW, a 01 ECM is the same O.S as a 02 ECM.............
