Will it matter if the throttle body is Gold blade or silver. I have read that they are different setups. I'm not sure just an observation

I also should add it hasn't been tuned for the new stuff yet either.

The throttle should still operate with the engine off.
4.0 X-Links are optimized for gold blade 90mm, but work with all GM 87mm and 90mm TBs.

Is there a marking on the end of the X-Link beside the mounting stud? e.g. a 4 or IV, or 4V?

I'm not for sure. I'm not around my truck right now. But it should be the 4.0 version. I bought it off torque rush.com about a month ago. And the one I purchased on there said 4.0 version

Have about 6 codes, all of them are for TPS. Plugged my factory TB in to the factory harness and it worked without a problem. But nothing with the x link and 90mm hooked up. About to run over to a friends with a 05' and hook x link and TB onto his truck and see what happens.

And you tried it with the trigger wire disconnected? A slight ground or voltage offset will throw off the correlation between the 2 TPS signals of the 90mm as they move in opposite directions. The stock TB is not as sensitive to these as both signals move in the same direction and are affected equally by any offset.

Do you know what the code numbers were?

I found a similar problem with my truck. I wiggled the two harnesses that plug into the I believe "tac module" or as I can best describe is the little box mounted on the firewall next to the brake booster closest to the fender. Sent my codes away instantly.
