Default 6.2 A8 swap

Just wondering if it would really be a problem to swap into my '14. Should be compatible as far as wiring and computer and so on? I'm speculating and want some expert opinions from the site pros.

I can't imagine there is anything different. Similar to swapping from a gen III 5.3 to a 6.0 or a gen IV 5.3 to a 6.2.

I would guess it will be a while before finding a 6.2 is fairly common place without buying new.

There are several for sale from ~ 4k to 10k, some complete with trans and low mi. Got me to thinking about a cheap upgrade since I love my truck anyway.

I have seen a few broke allready. One in a stock truck. The input shaft broke. The other was on a blown esclade. They dont seem as strong as the 6 speeds

Well that sucks! I think I want a 6.2 though regardless. The heads are a huge upgrade not to mention the extra ci. Still DD friendly.

Hanging out at the Corvette forums the A8 doesn't seem to bueno. I know I'll be making a warranty claim on mine.

I think the A8 is going to be orphaned. The A6 is pretty solid and the future is the A10 joint Ford/GM trans.

Thanks for the heads up on the A8 guys! Figured rather than spend money on the 5.3 I could almost drop in a like new 6.2 is my thinking.

I can tell my 6.2/A8 has the poorest throttle response and hunts for gears than ANY vehicle I've owned! The throttle lag is actually scary pulling out across traffic or changing lanes.
Does have lots of power WOT!

Money tree is really starting to bloom again due to AC weather...I'm a contractor Starting to get the itch to upgrade again. Quite a few low mile 6.2's for 4-5 K. Digest that for a while then cam, headers, pulley, 600 reliable DD hp?
