I just finished my 6.0 lq4 swap and i have been running it on my 2002 5.3 tune till the nelson arrives in the mail. I just read that i can burn engine up (pistons)? Whats the #7 piston problem that people have. The truck tows my dirt bike trailer and 3 bikes real good in od. Hope i havent ruined my 12000 mile engine. What do you guys think? No check engine lights are on yet! Could it be lean and no lites. pcm should relearn?

 

You should be fine, Besides your only sacrificing performance with the lower displacement tune from the 5.3 engine.

 

i'd be carefull. you can drive it but don't go wide open with it. take it easy. there are quite a few of us that have burnt #7 from a 5.3 tune

 

youll be running really lean so dont punch it

 

You will fine to "drive" it... I would stay away from towing and keep your foot out of it just to be safe, But your good. FWIW 5-8 and especialy 7 have allways run lean in these engines.
