Default 11-1 LQ9 total timing

I have a truck that can't be dyno tuned so when it comes to timing, I basically have to rely on guessing vs knock. Just curious what you guys think. Stock (fresh) LQ9 with stock (fresh) 243s and a TSP 233/239 cam advanced to 106.5*. I had a local tuner come over and do his thing and we ended up at 23* at WOT and no knock. We didn't try advancing past that. Think I should try more timing and see what it does or leave it alone? I don't want to leave a bunch of TQ on the table.

Edit: 93 octane fuel.

Currently 1 5/8" shorty block huggers with 2.5", h-pipe and straight through mufflers. I'm willing to build a set of fender well open headers. Been considering tri-y.

Once you get some real headers and exhaust you should be able to run 28-29 with no issues.. My 12.3:1 370 ran with no detonation at 28 degrees..

Ok thanks guys, should I start a new thread asking about headers or just carry on here? I will build them but they will have to be fender well headers so they will just be open.
