I just bought a 03 Silverado Z71 with a 4.8 & 5 speed manual & the electronic throttle response sucks. The truck is stock except for a catback. I also have HP Tuners & was looking around at the tune & found what I think needs adjusted. It also says about possibly making the PCM inoperable if I do something wrong with those table. I really only know enough about HP Tuners to be dangerous also. Can anyone explain the ETC adjustment to me?

Unfortunately the warning that hptuners has for these tables as far as making adjustments to them is a warning to abide by.
Guys have found this out the hard way and turned their PCM into expensive paper weights.
In the cases I have heard about they'd make the adjustments to these tables, the truck starts up fine and all that and appears that all is well and then they make their way out the driveway or down the road. Well they go to hit the gas pedal then that's pretty much that!
Something where the PCM sees "x" value from the TAC and the values now that are changed in these tables don't agree or something along those lines and then that pretty much does it for the PCM.
Don't quote me on that exactly but it's along those lines, basically like I said they warn people not to mess with the tables for a reason.

I definitely have heard your complaint a lot though ever since 02-03 when the drive by wire bs came out for the trucks.

What is the best way to adjust throttle response? I know I have had many vehicles tuned by several different people/places, and all of them ran better but differently even tho the setups were almost identical on some. I had an 03 silverado that I got from another member on here and the throttle response was amazing on it! Almost annoying at times! lol Bumps were a nightmare!!! lol I was curious myself as to what the best way to get that crisp response from the ETC would be?
