Default LS-Swapped 1994 K1500 Silverado Daily Driver

The truck is dead nuts reliable, and I built it to be my DD and tow vehicle, and it served that duty well.

1994 Standard Cab Long Bed Z71 Pickup. It's been my DD for 19 months now, and I've put about 18,000 miles on it since I did the motor swap.
Truck body has ZERO rust, but has some scrapes, dents and dings. It was the cleanest truck I found for my build, and Zero rust means ZERO rust. Dent in front right fender, small dent in right rear lower bed area (between bumper and wheelwell). Only minor rust popping up on the frame this winter (lesson: never powerwash a frame, it knocks the wax dipping off). New Windshield in 2010, no rust in the window frame. Plastic bed liner with Herculiner over the bed rails , under the rails, inside the tailgate, and under plastic liner was thin. Bedliner apears to have been in the truck since new, the metal bed floor is in excellent shape, aside from the paint wear I already noted (and fixed).

Motor - 4.8L V8 LR4 out of a 2004 SCSB Silverado motor has less than 25,000 on it. The motor came out of a friends truck with less than 10 miles on it (He bought the truck new and immediately cloned it into a 2WD Silverado SS with a 6.0/T56 combo). I ran the motor in my 93 GMC 2WD from 2006-2010, but it was a weekend Home-depot/parts hauler and didn't get many miles on it. Stock 2004 exhaust from manifolds back, including cats. Shouldn't have any problem meeting emissions, but check with your state if you live in one with emissions testing. While it should have no issue passing 1994 emissions, some states are funny about swaps like this. Heck, it should have no problem meeting 2004 emissions. I extended the 2004 exhaust ~10" to fit the frame, and fabbed up frame side mounts to hang off the stock 04 Hangar locations. Engine harness is out of an 01-02 Suburban, and factory calibration was modified to work with the older style lockup converter, disabled the rear 02's, and edited the speedo cal so the cluster reads right. Gauge cluster was working perfectly, temp guage just quit, looks like it's the cluster showing it's age.

1994 Trans was rebuilt right before I got the truck, previous owner told me it had a shift kit, upgraded Sun Shell and clutch packs. It shifts firm on the 1-2, tight on the 2-3 and has been solid for 18000 miles, so his claims were more than verified. I also installed an 18000# GVW TCI trans cooler. It's plumbed with fitted hoses made up by a local hydraulic shop.

I upgraded the truck to 3.73's front and rear. Rearend has the 3.73/Gov lock parts out of the same 04 Silvy I got the motor, and has about 16,000 miles on them. I replaced all the seals and bearings (diff/pinion and axle) when I installed the gears. Install kit was from DTS (adapts 8.6" differential to an 8.5" housing). Front axle is a 3.73 unit from a 99 Tahoe, and is the solenoid one, not the thermo-actuator. I replaced the stub shaft seals before I installed the axle. Truck is wired with a switch and telltale light to engage the front axle, and the truck has a floor shift NP241C transfer case. I got the 4WD running this summer, and have only used it a few times, but it's worked perfectly every time.

Interior has some grey cloth seats from a 2000-ish Bonneville on stock seat rails. It also has a center console from a 88-94 Extended cab truck. It's properly mounted with Riv-nuts in the floorpan.

New front rotors and drums this summer, new Right side caliper too. Hawk HPS Pads, and Russell DOT Braided brakes lines hoses front and rear. New Wagner brake shoes in the rear too.
New MOOG Ball Joints summer 2010, new tie-rods, idler arm, and pitman arm in 2010 as well.
New Bilstein HD shocks all around last Sept. (see pics in link to see what happens to crappy O'reilly brand shocks on MI roads in 1 year).

Cube Radio Deleted and a single DIN Sony head unit installed. Polk 4x6 speakers in Front, Eclipse 4x6 in the back. Nothing incredible, but a step up from stock (i.e. audible with the windows down ).

3" body lift installed last summer, stock rear bumper needs lift brackets, front bumper lifted to body.
Push bar installed in front, but comes off with 4 bolts. Deep drop chrome rear bumper comes with the truck, but not installed.

Class 3 hitch installed, and truck is wired for a trailer brake controller, 7 pin and 4-pin connectors wired up.

Pics: HERE
Truck is FS with the polished Escalade wheels, tires have lots of life in them. The black wheels are going on the new truck. If you HAVE to have the black KMC's they can be had for $700.

For those of you that want more HP, I'll toss in a good LS1 shortblock that I have laying around. It would take very little to upgrade the truck to more HP, all the hard work of custom fitting everything up is done.

Asking price $5000 obo.

- I guess I'll put this out there, I'd be willing to trade for a Evo or Twin Cam Harley, or 2003+ Sport Bike, 600cc or bigger. Clean title only.
