Default 1996 Gmc Sierra Reg Cab ShortBed

1996 GMC Sierra 1500 Regular Cab Short Bed 5.0 Automatic 2wd.

I bought this truck in February in RI from a man who had moved up here 5 years ago from Florida. This truck was in Florida until then, so it has almost zero rust. If you look closely in the pics the only spot that needs a little attention is the bottom of the drivers door, for whatever reason ( it appears as though the rain runoff gets caught up in the molding ).

The 5.0 Engine was replaced at 97k miles, and when I bought it, needed intake gaskets. I installed the new design that no longer fails, and I flushed the cooling system, switching it over from dex-cool, to the Prestone Universal kind. The truck now has 128k miles on it ( I bought it with 118K). I replaced the factory mechanical style poppet fuel injectors, with the upgraded GM replacement electronic kind, doing a full tuneup at the same time, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. I also had the computer custom tuned by PCMForLess in Pennsylvania, Bryan did an awesome job and this truck runs very very smooth and super strong, for a 5.0. The transmission shifts firm and crisp every time. ( no known history, it's untouched since I bought it) The strongest 5.0 “stock “ truck i've ever driven.

I replaced the entire rear brake system. New drums, hardware, wheel cylinders, and shoes. The front rotors were turned and new pads installed.

I lowered the front 2” with Belltech Springs, and installed new upper and lower balljoints at that time. Also put new shocks and sway bar endlinks on at the same time. The rear is lowered 4” with McGaughy hangers and shackles, with new shocks at that time as well.

The front end was inspected and aligned when I did the drop, and it is all tight. The steering box is a little loose ( to be expected with 130k) and should eventually be replaced. Does work fine, and is completely safe, but I want to fully disclose everything.

Truck came with the Sport chrome wheels, which I installed 275/60/15BFG Radial T/A at the time of lowering. ( 5k miles ago ) I also just bought a set of used, polished 17”American Racing Torque Thrust II's that have 3k miles on them, that will also go with the truck. Factory wheels for winter, Torque Thrusts for summer, was my plan. The torque thrusts are in great shape, the front tires are at about 65% ( the guy I bought them from had them on an air bagged truck ) and the rears look absolutely brand new. Will be very, very nice when installed!

Has flowmaster style muffler, and 3” single exhaust, sounds great, not too loud.

Aftermarket pioneer cd player with usb and auxiliary inputs, and Cerwin vega speakers in the doors. Nothing crazy, just better than stock.

Headlights are just OK, I installed a set of black headlights, parking lights, and marker lights. I was not impressed with the quality/fit/finish so I had planned on re-installing the factory set. Those will come with the truck as well. ( has Silverstar Ultras, hi and low beam )

Just passed CT emissions in February.

Awesome driver, and great truck to finish up the minor details I didn't get to do yet. I take pride in my vehicles, and always do the job right. I never cut corners with the work I do. I buy quality parts, and do the complete job, not just what “needs” repair.

$4500 with Torque Thrusts, $3900 W/O

Feel free to email me with any questions!
