Would it be worth it

all the little stuff can add up, and personally I wouldn't put a motor that's been sitting out, no valve covers in, and no knowledge of it's history. I wouldn't do it without a warranty on the engine and confirmed it's running good, but that's just me.

The only thing is I have way too much money invested in the 5.3 in my truck now to swap to the 6.0, even as much as I'd love to. So I would have to find a roller or something to put the motor in as well.

if you're gonna buy the motor, but it to use as a core for a build, i would not put it in your truck. You've got a really nice running 5.3 in there now, no reason to change it out IMO.

I'm going to be moving away to college in 2 months, so it'd have to wait awhile. And I would take it apart, but there are so many things that I'd have to buy to put it back together right (bearings, seals, gaskets, bolts, etc), that I'd really probably rather keep the short block together.

go for it I recently sold an unknown mileage lq4 long block with the heads off of it for $1000 lol
Most junkyards will lift it and put it in your truck for you. you just have to do all the hard work
