Default Will a dirt bike fit in a Crew Cab Colorado?

Didn't know where to post this...

I looking into getting a mid-sized truck to haul around a dirt bike and quad..
(Not at the same time)

I like the Colorado Crew Cab Z71.

I know my ATV will fit with the tailgate down.

I'm going to buy a dirt bike soon (250f) and I'm not sure if it will fit in the bed since the crew cab beds are very small. The only way it would possibly fit is if I leave the tailgate down and turn the bike sideways, but even then I don't know..

Anyone know if it will fit???
I don't have room for a trailer..

Crew Cab Box (inches)
Length at floor 61.1
Width at floor 57.2
Width between wheelhousings 42.6
Tailgate width 52.4
Inside height 18.6
Cargo box volume1 (cu. ft.) 37

so with the gate down that should mean you have almost 80"... and thats not with it angled

2008 YZ250
Length 85.7"

Yea I did that same math..

However I forgot the geometry to figure out if I will have enough room with it angled.

Could I gain 6 inches by turning the bike sideways you think or not?

i think you could gain 6 inches by turning the bike, also 85.7" is probly from front of front tire to the back of the back tire you only need a little more than half the back tire on.

without a doubt you'd be able to get a bike around with that truck, obviously you'd need the tailgate down but it would be manageable.

i think a two stroke would fit better back there though...

It's about wheelbase, not engine design. A comparable 2 stroke 125cc chassis for the most part has the same dimensions as a 4 stroke 250cc chassis, they also race in the same class at most tracks.

I just went out and measured my CRF250X and from front of the front tire to an inch rearward of the rear tire contact patch is 76". Use a tie down to secure the rear wheel from flopping around and you'll be golden!

c'mon guy, i was kidding about the 2 stroke deal, I just miss hearin them at the tracks. and the length that would need to be measured would be the front of the front wheel to the contact point of the rear wheel. I feel confident you could get a bike back there though, just use enough straps.
