Its really low maintenance, I have the v6 because I wanted selectable 4x4 instead of AWD and its got pretty good performance for what it is. It gets bout 16 city/18-19 hwy depending on speed how it sits now. We looked at the tahoes and TBSS but she didnt want a full size either and the TBSS has a bland/cheap interior to her. All the other mid size SUVs didnt have an aftermarket and we opt for the lifted but its a good all around vehicle with good resale value

I vote tahoe, the tbss and jeep srt8 would be to tempting to just add a little more to see what it can due , iam fighting my self not to get a tbss for my wife and going the tahoe route, besides being 6'4 a tbss is a little tight for me! a 4runner is nice but i would not go for it iam a bowtie guy at heart so anything i purchase has to be bowtie!

i test drove a MX7 for my girlfriend, that was really nice, just syain. if you want something cool TBSS or the SRT8. my girls' friend just got a new equinox, lots of room and nice interior.

yall should really go test drive allot of cars, i put my girl in about 5 small suvs and she decided to get a fit, go figure. oh and the fit does have a ton of room as well.

Although I put it up for sale once a week or once a month I love my TBSS and so does my wife.

If you have to get a V8 you can still get the 5.3L in an Envoy, the Saab 9-7's, even Rainiers I believe.

If I were to be getting one for the wife I would not get her the TBSS I would get her the i-6 or 5.3v8 but the extended version with 3rd row.

We also went from an envoy to a Ford Expedition and it was VERY HARD to go back to a mid-size. Wife LOVED the expedition.

So, I say consider the envoy/trailblazer extended/3rd row.

I do NOT like the hoe's green interior lighting at all for the speedo/gauges.

Also, we currently have a KIA Sorento, it has a 3rd row, a 270hp v6, and 6 speed trans. We got it at our Chevy dealer through our normal sales guy. Anyhow it is amazing for our kid/family hauler. Although I love driving my car it is VERY luxurious and nice. We drove it from MI to FL and it is VERY comfortable with *reclining* rear seats.

Just putting some options out there.... Good Luck!!

Next up for us is an acadia/traverse/enclave

%100 vote for not getting the Jeep or Ford. I was thinking about getting rid of the wifes Aura for a Tahoe and the high mileage truck won a shocking good offer and was sold first. We ended up replacing it with a 07 Yukon Denali. We now have it and a Aura and it seems to work out very well for our driving needs and my towing. Hopes this helps, we took a couple of weeks to weight our odds and this seemed best!!! The Jeep and Ford does not tow crap for weight!!! TBSS was our next option if not a full size but she liked the Yukon looks better.

My little nugget of advice is to go with a fullsize SUV. My wife has a Lincoln Aviator (fancy explorer) and with all our crap, baby stuff and the dog it gets cramped for road trips. I cant imagine what it would be like if we have another kid. We are looking at getting her a tahoe now once we find teh right one.

If your looking for a wife friendly suv, then get the Tahoe,if your looking for the fun factor then go forr the gusto and get the Jeep SRT8.If u ride in the Jeep you will forget about the Trailblazer SS!Ive been in both in stock form and the Jeep punks the SS.
