i would sit out there with my bb gun and pop em when i saw em....i had some problems with dove chilling in the tree right over my truck at night this past summer...i would wash my truck and come out in the morning and it would be covered all over in bird crap...so i sat out there one night and shot em up with the bb gun, havnt been back ever since

I also have the same problem where I live. The scratches left on mine where thankfully buffable. The bad thing is the cats belong to one of my neighbors ( a good friend of mine). That same day I went over and nicely explained what had happened, he apologized and it hasn't happened again. Although I'm sure those useless cats are just waiting for it. Lol

Can you prove it was their cat(s)? I would get an estimate, and send them a bill. If they think of their cats like children, they will understand that when you have things like cats or children, they will make you aquire unwanted expenses like that. If they don't want to pay it, then I would file a claim in civil court. If you can prove that their cats did the damage, you will win the suit. If they are going to own thngs that may cause damage to someone elses property they had better be prepared to pay for the damages. When you go for the estimate, I would go to the guy that did the paint job for you. He might even just be able to buff it out depending on how bad it is.
I would get a few animal traps and put a little food in side it. Next morning if you have a cat in there take it back to the owner and say this is a polite warning, if it happens again it's going to the pound
