Why do these ls1tech boards always seem slow

I was wondering why these boards seem very slow sometimes. It also seems like at least once a day i get the database error here or on tech, i guess they are on the same server. Im not bitching im just wondering..Is it the amount of traffic that tech.com gets?

Yeah, it's gotta be the traffic. Sometimes I get the error message 3 or 4 times.
