Man, if I was getting a bike, I'd have to get a Yamaha Roadstar Warrior. Those sport bikes just ain't my style.

Harleys cost allot of money hold resale but cost allot when crashed, they are also kind of slow and heavy, and are not easy to manuver out of a bad situation. Not really a beginner bike in my opinion.
I'd buy a non current sport or sport touring bike and just be carefull. Don't let your need for speed kill you before you get used to your bike and your capabilities.
Drive as if all the cars on the road are out to kill you!! They are full of people who do not see you or know your rate of acceleration compared to theirs.
I have ridden bikes since I was about 14 and have had a couple minor spills and have almost hit people on bikes taht were driving in my blind spot.
You have to drive both offensively and defensively depending on where you are and your surroundings.
My last bike was an R1, useless on most streets, but fun as hell

Harley all the way. 56 panhead chopper. I just could never get into sport bikes, no resale and cheap, need american muscle. I think you can begin on a harley many have done it, the point is if you know how to ride you know how to ride. Plus yeah a harleys not made for speed, so its going to be easier in my oppinion than a sport bike because you wont be tempted to open it up, then almot get whacked by me pulling out my my driveway when your doing 100mph on a 40 mph road. I love the wacko's who ride sports bikes like idiots. Immature riders , shouldnt be allowed to handle such things.

Im NOT getting anything but a sport bike
Im NOT getting anything over 650cc's unless it is just an unreal deal

So with that said Im going to PM Flossin_24s and see if I can meet up with him and ride it and see if I like it and go from there. He isnt too far from wher I am and I work nights so after I wake up I have a few hours to waste so I could go drop my headers off at the ceramic coater south of nashville and go ahead and meet up with him.

I have riden my dads 03 harley heritage it is a very pretty bike and rides nice but is too SLOW. He has the screamin eagle package on it but it is too damn big and bulky at like 800 pounds.
