^Lmao. Reminds me of the day I went to the dealer to price a set of L92 heads, bare casting. Told the parts guy I wanted them for a L92. Got the usual parts guy response of "huh?" Ok let's try this again, heads for a 6.2. Immediately went for the diesel parts.

 

Yeah that exchange is pretty common. Drives me nuts.

 

I have a built trans and when I'm in it any at all it will chirp the tires. A kid at our local hang out had evidently seen me take off from a light and hit second and chirp the tires. He walks up to my window (where you can CLEARLY see my shifter) and says,

Him: "Man, you really need to learn how to drive that stick!"
ME: It's an automatic and had a shift kit.
Him: "I know, but I'm talkin bout when you let out on the clutch. You need to ease out on it, or your gonna break your axles or something."
Me: Hey man, I think that chick is about to take off in your truck!

People are losing brain cells by the minute, I swear! lol

 

in the staging lanes letting my truck cool after several back to back 8.80 runs (1/8th mile)

Kid: 5.3 or 6.0?
Me: 6.0 swap
Kid: LQ4 or 9?
Me: 4
Kid: Wow, I didnt know the LQ4 could run like that...its moving pretty good.
Me: yeah, its just got longtubes, exhaust CAI, Stock motor.
Kid: Yeah well, it sure is runin good. I didnt think they could do that.
Me: Yeah (closes hood and runs some more 8.80s)


Next guy says.... " Sprayed 5.3 or 6.0 swap?"
Me: swap
Guy: Oh....walks off

 

Back when I still had my lightning, I was at the track one night and truck was running pretty consistent 7.70's all night(1/8th mile) had a guy come up to me and tell me if I would raise my idle up to 750rpms that it would knock another half second off my times.......

 

Oh yeah...You didnt know that?

 

Must have been one of those old timers tricks

 

Two months ago when I was at the track had a guy come up to me.
Him: what mods
Me: 6.0L, full exhaust, intake, bigger intake mani, 90mm throttle body, 4.56 gears, and a tune.
Him: Why do all that stuff, its a truck and their slow.
Me: Well I like my truck, and anyone can make a car fast. Making a truck fast is talent.

Later on I told him my plans for head, cam, and a supercharger. He told my he had a Completely stock 01 corvette with a procharger @ 8# and ran a 11.1. Also said cams and what not were pointless and would make it to where you couldn't pass emissions. I just nodded and walked away.

 

LoL, who was it? Dont tell me it was the same one that told me there are no clutches in a 4l60....
