My girlfriend's brother keeps INSISTING that I need to get true duals on my Colorado, even though I've already got a 3" single exhaust. Because.. we all know that true duals make TONS more power.
This is a kid going to school for diesel mechanics and thinks his '97 F150 with the 4.2, intake and a busted-*** dual exhaust puts down 300hp.

I can't count how many people have TOLD me that they don't put a 5.3l in the Colorado, that it has to have been swapped, and they only have the 5 cylinder stock.

Everyone asks me what motor i have in my truck, then when i say 4.8 they are like...RLY?

I guess cuz the exhaust makes noise its got to be a big motor.

When I got the truck, a kid I know told me that it had to be a v6, because it's impossible to make a v8 smaller than 5.0 liters.

After the 408 I get the usual " Is that a big block?" and alot of people try to relate the liter size to older GM engines. " You used to have a 6.0, so you had a 383 stroker?" . I now have a 6.7 so I swapped in a 409?? It's just easier to say yes.

lol these are good.

i have a wideband on my A pillar and atleast 5 people have gotten into my truck and said one of the following

hey your clock over there is wrong
why do you have a gauge that just counts down? (it counts down 20sec when i start my truck)
thats a crazy volt meter
why are you only getting 14.7 mpg?

also no one believes my truck is a 4.8 then when i tell them its a 4.8 they say damn thats a strong v6

Last year I had my trucks friend with a 228/230 110lsa that I was borrowing while I was working on mine. So I started the truck to let it warm up at the end of the day and I had the cutout open. I had a customer come up to me very concerned looking and he said "your choke is stuck on!"(yelling over the exhaust).

LMAO I never laughed so hard before in my life. He was an older guy but regardless, I couldnt get over that comment.
