Default Washing Truck Cover

Someone (family member) had a little issue next to my truck in the garage and there is a strip of engine oil spray that goes right across and over the cover. It soaked threw abit too. Anyone have an idea of what I should try and wash the cover with? I read some horror stories of car cover washing.

I have a covercraft cover thats about ten years old. On their website they call for a cup of simple green in a washing machine that DOESNT have the center agitator. The only place I think I can find one is at a commercial laundramat. There is'nt one near me so I havent tried it yet but will as soon as I can I will. You can also wash it inside out on the truck but with the oil that might not be a great idea.

could you apply that same method by hanging it up outside and using a power wash? using a scrub brush and soap.

I think I'll try that along with running it over the the laundramat. See what happens. My wife said not to put it in the dryer bec of the way the material feels.

I tried everything to clean it. It does clean up but no matter what I wash it with or what method I use to wash it I still get a haze of oil film after leaving it on the truck over night. It's dry to the touch, feels great.....but once installed, no good.

One thing I think I should have done was wash it right away. I had folded it up and put it in a box. The oil soaked in to other parts of the cover. I idn't think it was all that bad. It must be have something to do with the material. It's a real pita to wash too, Oh well....in the trash it goes.
