one of my co-workers who is 18 said that there is some law that says if your under age and you throw a party at your house that the cops can't bust you if your drunk because its your propery. but they can bust all the other under age kids who are drunk. i said no way. anyone heard of anything like this.

Only one I have heard is if your spouse is over 21 and you are under you can drink 'with their permission'

Even if they can't arrest you, they will watch you like a hawk until they find a reason to arrest you...You think an 18 year old drunk kid isn't going to do anything stupid?

Heh, that made me giggle.

In Texas a minor can drink with a parent or spouse that is of age but just being on your own property doesn't matter.

I think the age thing doesn't matter. It's more about throwing the party on your property. Can they come in and give you any trouble without a warrant? I had a MASSIVE Christmas party once in my parent's farmhouse. I was 18. Cops had roadblocks set up on 2 of the 4 roads leaving the area (the 2 good ones), and they never came into the yard. Busted plenty of idiots leaving though.

sure puts the home owner in a bind for providing minors with booze.
i say lets put it to the test, as when the party is so you can call the cops
and see what happens.
