Well the update... So we all got the results back... Not good. It was/is what we had deep in our minds tucked away... It is cancer that has formed on his left tonsil, also what has cause the lump in his neck.. First week of April he goes in to have his tonsils removed.. Docter said it looks that it has been caught pretty early, but is cancer... Also that this is a very treatable cancer with a good success rate.. Thats is a plus if any, also 2 of my dads friends have beat this same stuff..After the removal he will need time to recover from that. That is when it will be time for him to make the decision to either have the lump removed or treated with radiation.. The doctor says that the new form radiation is much easier, direct, successful then from previous years, but he would have to do 30 treatments(6-7 weeks). If he were to have it removed, no telling what could happen from it, since it is in a vital area where tons of nerves are from the arm, neck ect. So that will be up to him.. After all that(months) time, then will have to keep a eye on things to see( hope to god) that it stays in remission.. Also the doctor said that this is common for guys my dads age 60 that still has their tonsils... Soo now it is a battle, hope, pray it can be a dominant one for him. My mom is sick from all this, taking it very very bad..I am just looking on the bright side of things, but this is truly the hardest thing ever to deal with, think about from day to day, mentally and emotionally, I am pretty thick skined. I HOPE TO GOD THAT ALL THIS WORKS OUT. Dad is keeping a better attitude then anybody, thats is so important..
So to you guys/gals just tell your loved ones you love them 1 time extra a day... That is all... PLEASE THROW SOME PRAYERS OUR WAY

Wow John, that really sucks to hear but the good news is that it is recognised early. Get it done and god speed.

 

Good luck. Cancer is some tough stuff to deal with. Hopefully he will come out fine.

sometimes what keeps me upbeat is knowing it could be worse. pray with him, take time to spend with him, and he will pull out of this. things happen we cannot control in life, and we must face every challenge with strength and faith. your strength and faith will help keep his mind strong.

i have been through lots of issues with my immediate family similar to this. just try and stay upbeat and hope for the best. it is early in the game, it is treatable, it is beatable.

i will pray for you and your family, and ask my church to do the same.

Hang in there man. I just found out monday my step mom has cancer. She also is taking it better than anybody.
